1500 bowls (2011)
Ceramic bowls of a certain size are often initially thought of as vessels for food. They can be full or empty. "Full" and "empty" leads to gestures of giving and taking and to associations of "much" or "little". Many bowls – many eaters.
The bowl is a measure. I threw bowls of equal size. The number of bowls per country corresponds to the population density per square kilometre. One bowl equals 40 inhabitants.
Each country has been given an equal square as a surface area. The countries are sorted according to population density from low to high. All the countries of the world are represented in the installation.
