For each country, I threw exactly one bowl whose volume is as large as the gross domestic product per person converted into the purchasing power of each country.
While 1,500 bowls represent the number of people who need to eat in each country, I show in this project the money theoretically available to one person to live on in that country. I translated this amount and the corresponding statistical potential for a single person into volume.
Learning to craft all the volumes in the exact size and form on the potter's wheel by hand and assign them by inscribing the name of each country – I understand as a gesture.
The upper edge of each bowl is given a fine black line which represents the fill line, the limit of the volume.
