The project is a serial investigation of the expressive potential of a single red pigment, which is defined by the color code Lab 40/86,011/60,226 in the Lab color system.
27 variations differ in their haptics and graphic structure as well as in their recipes and technologies. Nevertheless all of them resulted in the same visually identical ceramic shade of red.
In how many ways can the same red color shade be produced? and how can different haptic expressive qualities be generated with one and the same shade of red?
The firing process creates graphic images of the red Lab_40/86,011/60,226 and refers in 27 variations to the fact that the color value is not sufficient to clearly describe ceramic color.
